Correct. That’s why I gave up on Retin A after consistent use over two years. My breakouts never stopped. The only topical that helps me is benzoyl peroxide.

Yes I started tretinoin and my 'purging' wouldnt stop even after 4 months, then I stopped using it and I was still breaking out. I think it was my Albolene cleansing balm that was infected after 2 years of using it. Now I'm back to using tretinoin once a week. Will gradually increase!

You have got to got absolutely have to keep your face clean using retinol and a have a routine. Gotta at the very least wipe it off with a clean wipe in the morning and wash you your pillow cases and brushes more than usual. I had such bad purging so many time that it resulted in me giving up on it all together several times over the years..but once I a got a regular 9 to 5 job which came with regular bedtime routine and helped me push through the rough patch..I'm so grateful to say retinol FINALLY does the opposite of all the negative traits in the beginning and I no longer have an adult acne problem

A did everything by the book with adapalene, and used all of Dr. Dray’s tips for it and I still got the months of awful breakouts. I initially got it for the anti-aging effects, I had virtually no acne before using it so I just screwed myself over. Thankfully I went to a dermatologist and it was all resolved with tret that I still use to this day. My skin looks more flawless than ever; i recently started using it on the back of my hands, my neck, and my chest! I could never figure out why it broke me out so bad for months as someone who never had severe acne like that, the dermatologist just gave me tretinoin with little explanation.

But what should i do 😭 i purged for 6 months i didnt even have acne before and now i have the biggest zits ever 😭😭 i just wanted good complexion and anti aging

I have started tretinoin this month. Today is going to be my 5th application, so far so good alhamdulillah.
