I grew up working on this Estate for the de Vesci family. The late Lady Susan de Vesci was sister to Lord Snowdon who brought Princess Margaret to stay at the Estate in the late 1960's. A very kind family. I retain outstanding memories of pheasant drives and trout fishing there. The de Vesci family built the town of Abbeyleix along with a carpet factory where Actor George Clooney's grandmother worked before they headed for the US.
