I remember Anthony…He was a judge for a “battle of the bands” contest my friends and I entered back when we were in middle school. He talked to us after our set. He was so down to earth, funny, kind. He had a compliment for each of us and let us know how much he enjoyed us. Before it came time to announce the winners, he came on stage with another judge playing guitar and sang a couple songs…One of them was that old gospel hymn “take my hand, precious lord.” And let me just say, that little auditorium we were in became CHURCH! His voice took the whole room to the highest level imaginable! He was so talented!!!We won the contest and a few months later, we saw him on “The Voice”…..I still feel the shock I felt the day the news of his tragic death came out…Miss you, Anthony. Gone, but NEVER forgotten.
