I lived in a 300sq ft studio with my three kids ages 2-9, after we became homeless… and I loved it. It forces you to get super creative and everything stays clean because each new activity (eating, cooking, working, playing, sleeping) requires clean-up before moving on to the next activity. 600sq ft looks like a breeze… And right across from the park? Say less!

From someone who has raised small children in a smaller than usual (for the US, that is) space, I will say that hands down, the most challenging part was that children can be "stuff" magnets. Especially if they are attending any sort of school outside the home---papers and crafts and birthday party loot on top of gifts from friends & family, etc. They can easily accumulate not just more than they need, but more than they will even use, wear, or look at. We'd regularly sift through all of that & pass some along in order to keep it manageable.

We are a family of 7…the space feels like home. It’s never about size…it’s about love and memories
in my family we was ten and lived in one room living, kitchen dining room. and 2 bedrooms we grow up all in that place. Is not ideal, but we make the best memories.

This place is indeed amazing. It looks so clean and uncluttered, and this lovely family knows that kids do not need piles of plastic toys. The one thing I find very odd is no curtains or blinds in the bedroom! I am aware that Americans do not necessarily have curtains and you have bathrooms with clear glass in the windows (I am British and buttoned up!) What about light at night or more important privacy in the bedroom? If you know what I mean. Best wishes

Kudos to these parents for having three kids and doing such a fabulous job arranging their lives as a family so beautifully.

I live alone in an almost 600 square-foot alcove studio that I own in Manhattan. They look so happy and beautiful and I can’t believe they make the space work. I think the windows really make a difference. Condition they seem like really really lovely people. I wouldn’t mind seeing a little more color but that’s my own take.

I think it's great for them as little kids, but I can't imagine three teenagers in that tiny room. I guess if they grow up this way it would be normal for them not to have a lot of space. The apartment looks great. Love the decor.

A huge home with four people is not always serene when there is violence and/or other abuse in the home. The love, care and attention to fostering the mental and physical health of all inhabitants of a space makes a house a home no matter the size.
