Microwaves actually cook from the inside out exactly opposite of how you explained it. Microwave a marshmallow too long and the inside will burn while the outside stays white.

I'm a huge fan of the microwave. My mum used to "bake" potatoes in it. I regularly use it to make infused oils (chilli, garlic, rosemary, oregano). Such an underrated appliance that so many people just don't know how to use

I bet most microwave users don't know how the power button works

I had no idea that you can use a wave for frying. I do use mine to precook potatoes for baking, frozen pot piles just to give them a jump start and lower the amount of cooking time needed in the oven. Very informative video

two things you missed saying (my two cents): 1 - NEVER cook anything without a cover, to keep your microwave clean. 2 - NEVER leave your microwave plate without a paper towel, for the same reason of above, and to avoid the harsh noise of two hard surfaces get in touch, when placing a glass/ceramic bowl/disk over it. just 2 cents of useless knowledge from somebody that cooks 110% of my things in the MW.

If you treat the microwave like another source of heat, then it's easy to understand. You won't try to defrost soup on a stove at full power, so why would you try to do that in the microwave? You won't try to cook rice at full power on a stove, so don't do that in a microwave either. Yes, you can cook rice using the absorption method in a microwave, you just need to set a low enough power setting for the water to cook the rice, not the microwave to cook the rice. Likewise, as in the video, you can fry things on full power, because... you can fry things at full power on the stove.
