I have the ranch oak bedroom set my grandparents bought for their rowdy boys in the 1950s. I've got the set spread between several different rooms, but they've gone through 3 generations and are still in amazing shape!

Hate rugs and carpet. Too much maintenance when you have pets and kids.

Sorry for this delayed comment-- just found you. Note there are bad wicker baskets. The cheap ones look more than cheap and don't last. My husband and I collect quality baskets from different traditions the world over. Buy from the artisan who made the basket and pay what that craft is worth and it will last a lifetime. Baskets are exactly like pottery -- there is bad quality pottery, don't bother with it.

I love my Fiestaware dishes. They make me so happy. And, they are the last large American made pottery in the U.S.

I love having beautiful dinnerware. I have two sets that are very beautiful and I enjoy using. One is probably a 25 year old pattern that I got recently for a very reasonable amount of money. The other pattern is vintage and I had to really search for it online. Once I found it, I started buying it in bits and pieces. So getting great dinnerware that you can really love and enjoy doesn’t have to be super expensive.
