My rule will bed pillows, is that if it's not there for some functional purpose, it shouldn't be there. The notion of having countless pillows on the bed that have to be removed every evening to actually use the bed, literally makes zero sense. Why waste time and money on something that has no functional utility? Before anyone says it looks nice, a bed with just functional pillows usually looks nicer and less cluttered than a bed trying to look like a try-hard magazine cover.
