Would you mind sharing where you got the mini wok? It’s so cute & will be practical for small portions. Thank you.

im amazed you can do this indoors with the smoke and after smell but that's the best diy season color i've seen. You've got me persuaded to try this with a burner stove outside. I'll definitely burn it much longer than I originally thought.

all the wok seasoning videos I've watched was more focused on the 'show' part. this was more focused on actually educating and it was very helpful. Thanks!

protip: get rid of the mask. that's almost as nuts as using that kind of mask for covid or the flu.

How often do you have to do this?

I’ve been putting off seasoning my wok because it seems laborious but you make it look straightforward, thank you! For those asking about the wok, I think it’s Dexam brand and I got mine from TJ Maxx/Marshall’s but it can probably also be found on Amazon.

How does it differ from seasong a cast iron? I have been unsuccessful with my cast iron so im looking into having a carbon steel instead. With carbon steel, do you need to season just once?😊

The DUMBEST thing I did this year was buying de Buyer carbon steel pan.
X They forget to tell you, that you just cant season it evenly on the induction (ask me why if you dont believe). If you own induction season it only in the oven on 230°.
X They forget to tell you, that after washing you cant let it dry on its own, because after an hour rusting appears, so you have to dry it immediately
X Finally, seasoning is one big bullshit beacuse it doesnt last as they say. I did 3 rounds of seasoning, it was looking perfect, and still breast and pork sticked like glue. Then I washed it in hot water and not even hard side of the sponge and I lost almost all my seasoning. The next day, even eggs was sticking.
X I rather switch teflone every year than this nonpractical shit
