As a German I feel obligated to inform the world that toast isn't bread. It's nice and fun sugar foam. But not bread ;)

Note : The food grading means how good it is compared to other products in that range , so the food grading compares cookies, to other cookies. so if your cookies are D , they are much worse than other cookies.

It's not just the unit- price! They also lable the cost per kg or litre so you can directly compare different package sizes.

its affordable for you because your salary is 4 times our salary, for us is just as expensive as it is for you back in the US

There are more affordable supermarkets than El Corte Inglés, which is one of the most expensives ones. Try visiting Carrefour, Mercadona, Lidl or Alcampo, for example. They have well-known brands and their own brand, much cheaper and maintaining the same quality of the first ones.
That's true that groceries and so on are a bargain in Spain compared to the United States, but we need to consider than the usual family income here is between 1K-1.5K euros a month, or 12K euros per year. However, in USA, $30K per year is living in poverty. Prices can be seen as high or low depending on the salary that oneself perceives.
Enjoy in Spain and have a nice new year! ❤

Note that the Spanish salaries are a lot lower than in the states. In my same job in the States I would make 6 times more money at least.

The A to E labeling isn't supposed to be comparing into good or bad brands, just how healthy they are (ingredients like sugar, fat ecetera). A cookie for example or any chocolate should never get anything better than E.
