We export hardly anything anymore. China has destroyed our manufacturing and industries and companies by undercutting prices and putting American businesses out of business, then buying out those companies. We are now the worlds biggest consumers, especially for China. The bulk of the money we spend here goes back and builds up the Chinese economy not to build ours. Between Walmart and Amazon they have cornered the market. They are now hiding the fact that the products are 'Made in China'. They are also using cheaper materials and materials made with dangerous chemicals and components ~ Don't even have the energy right now too speak on what their doing with Real Estate in America. Montana has been trying to put a stop to it in their state. The past administration constantly distracts us with Russia, Russia, but covers up their collusion with China and what they have done and are doing to us~

Tariffs are a long-term solution to the decline of America’s domestic manufacturing capability and job market. Bringing manufacturing companies back to the country means more jobs for Americans, greater self-sustainability, increased domestic investment, and heightened competition that will ultimately lead to lower prices overall.
For example, companies like Apple and Nike have moved their factories to China and other countries to exploit cheap labor and outcompete domestic American companies in the same niche that either do not use this strategy or lack the ability to do so. When the market becomes more competitive and large companies no longer rely on cheap labor to gain an advantage, it fosters greater competition, more product variations, and—most importantly—encourages companies to find innovative ways to optimize their supply chains and reduce costs without depending on cheap labor as an easy shortcut.
The Trump administration of course didn’t only impose tariffs alone as the main incentive to move companies back into the US. He implemented more tax credits for domestic producers, and removed some regulations that make it hard for companies to make their factories in America— so its not pointing a gun at the companies at all, like some might believe. So I would say I am very much satisfied with Trump’s “Tariff economy” because it will benefit the nation moving forwards.

Crazy that this isn’t well known how they work. It’s quite simple. Very necessary trade protection.

This was nice to see a discussion instead of a verbal annihilation resulting in argument.

Trump wants to raise taxes on u.s citizens but if he did it directly there would be riots on the streets hence the tariffs. He doesnt care about jobs coming back, hes trying to get revenue to get out of the mess that hes inherited from previous administrations.

The point is to drive up the costs so that businesses do their manufacturing in the US. As a consumer, I'm going to go with the cheaper option, and if that cheaper option is a US good, then I will buy the US good. This will inevitably lead to more American manufacturing, thereby increasing the value of the American dollar. Is it a bumpy road? Undeniably, yes, and it's the one that's necessary to step away from the impending destruction to the American traditional way of life wrought on by the globalist agenda.
